The purpose of Choosesustainable.org is to raise awareness of the global environmental consequences of our everyday choices and discuss ways to minimize our environmental footprint. In a global economy it is difficult to fully grasp the consequences of our shopping and living habits, yet we are the consumers that ultimately drive the market for products. Choosesustainable.org is a place where we share personal experiences, tips, and information to reduce our everyday impact on CO2 emissions, pollution, deforestation and ocean depletion.
The Site logo, the Pythagorean Y symbolizes the power of choice. The narrow branch on the right is the hard path that leads to a better future, the large branch on the left is the easy path that ultimately leads to destruction.
About me
My name is Maria Kulkarni and I live with my family in the greater Chicago area. Choosesustainable.org started from the slow realization that many of my everyday seemingly innocuous choices necessary to maintain my lifestyle had an enormous hidden impact on the environment.
This blog is born from a wish to encourage those who are already on the path to make sustainable choices to share their story, and a hope to inspire those who are still hesitant to begin.
