Preparation time: 15-20 minutes
Ingredients (3-4 people)
- 1 pound (~450 g) of okra
- 1/2 onion sliced in small pieces
- One table spoon of vegetable oil
- Half teaspoon of red chili pepper (optional)
- Salt
- Half teaspoon of turmeric powder
Procedure
- Wash the fresh okra
- Cut the okra in medium pieces of about 1 inch
- In a pan heat the oil
- Add sliced onion
- Add red chili
- Cook a few minutes until the onion is golden
- Add turmeric and cook one minute

- Add okra and cook on medium heat until soft but not slimy (about 10-15 minutes)

- Add salt if necessary
